I Can Finally Coherent! (Smash Direct Impression)

Heya peeps! After hours upon hours of squealing with childish delight (And sleep, followed by even more squealing), I’m gunna finally give you guys my opinion on the Smash Bros. Direct from yesterday!  I’m gunna just go out and say that having the adventure/Story mode on the portable version, and not the home console version is kinda not good. It says to me: “Hey! If you wanna get the full Smash Bros. experience, you’ve gotta by both versions!” Which kinda sucks.  Anyways, I’d also like to take a moment to give my two cents on the wireless play.  There are two battle modes: For Fun, and For Glory.  For Fun is like a laid back mode that only records wins, while For Glory is a more rigid mode that records both wins and losses. It’s actually like Pokemon X and Y Rating battles. Speaking of; There will be a system that tells you how many players you’ve out scored, and it’ll have you play against people with your own skill level; which is perfect because I suck a lot at fighting games. Oh! And there will be custom movesets that you can use! However, you can only use them if you’re battling it out with your buddies. So no: You can’t use the custom sets when battling with strangers.

Now, onto the new nuggets! AKA: Assist Trophies and New Items!  Firstly, I normally despise assist trophies, but one particular one made me cry hysterical happy tears because I love this character so much! That character, ladies and gentlemen, is Midna. When I saw her pop up outta the assist trophy case, I was just like: *gasp!* “Oh my god it’s Midna! AAAAAAAH!” All of that was actually said out loud, like I was just so fucking happy that she was even mentioned! I was just so genuinely ecstatic about that. I mean: She isn’t a playable character like I’d hoped she’d be, but at least she got some love after eight years. (Cause that’s as much love that she’s ever gonna get from Nintendo...) Okay I think there’s only one new item, but it’s deffinately worth mentioning; the Master Ball.  Unlike Pokeballs, Master balls will always release a legendary Pokemon at random. You could get anything from Arceus, to Xerneas and possibly Zygarde, so that’s gunna be the best damn thing ever! Also: Fennekin is gunna be a new Pokemon for the normal Pokeball, as well as Inkay (Possibly) and all the original Pokes you love.  Speaking of original Pokes, Charizard has been confirmed via Direct. When I saw his confirmation scene, I was almost screaming: “Is that!? YES! IT’S CHARIZARD! Thank you Nintendo! I love you all! Kick some ass, boy!” Again, I said it out loud; I’m surprised that my parents didn’t hear me, because I’m right next door to the living room. But I digress.  After Charizard’s epic display, Greninja interrupts with a Water Suriken, and I was just ‘Meh’ about it. I mean: Greninja’s great and all, but I don’t really love or hate it. Just ‘Meh’.  Also: Lucario has a new final smash now; Mega Lucario; and Charizard’s is Charizard X. (YAAAAY DRAGON TYPE!) I’m beyond happy. However, There’s a certain Psychic type slot that is oddly empty and covered in cobwebs at this time...You know who I’m talking about. Anyways! That’s all I have time for right now!
